Mental Health Counseling and Psychoeducation Center

Amanda Malanga, MS, LPC, ACS, NCC

Clinical Director/Psychotherapist

Early in my journey, I had a passion and drive for law enforcement. Realizing the need for mental health services in the criminal justice field, I decided to pursue my career as a Licensed Professional Counselor. For almost 20 years, I have practiced in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health centers, residential placements, and family homes. I have also worked with schools to bridge the gap between the educational system and the mental health system. I am an experienced Approved Clinical Supervisor and a Certified Yoga Instructor. I am enthusiastic about providing clinical supervision and guiding clinicians to balance professionalism and personal growth.

My areas of experience include depression, anxiety, and trauma, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, attachment issues, and social skills difficulties. I use an integrative approach to treatment, tailoring therapeutic services to the specific developmental and interpersonal needs of my clients. My yoga training helps me integrate movement into sessions to help children and adults work through strong emotions they feel in their bodies.

I am proficient in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT. I am an advanced trainer in the Nurtured Heart Approach and in Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention.
