Rose Celia Rosato, MA, LPC
With 26 years’ of experience in the mental health field as a counselor and psychotherapist, I have maintained a well-established practice in Bergen County for 20 years. My practice provides individual, group and family counseling and psychotherapy in addition to workshops and lectures. I have worked in a variety of community and private agencies which has provided me experience with diverse populations and services. Areas of experience include: depression, anxiety, women’s issues, trauma, life transition, adolescent issues, family issues, addiction, gifted population and more.
In 2011 I expanded my practice and created Balance and Thrive, a center established to provide integrated mental health and wellness care for individuals and families. I have carefully chosen qualified, experienced and compassionate professional to assist me in providing optimal health and wellness care to the people I serve. Each team member at Balance and Thrive works from an integrated perspective designed to help individuals and families enhance genuineness and insight and provide them with education and skills necessary to help them achieve emotional balance and fulfillment in life. We will also provide referrals for services not offered at the center and if needed coordinate services with the professionals we refer to or to other professionals.

Susan Keefer, PhD, LPC, RYT
Susan is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with couples experiencing relationship difficulties (such as difficulties in communicating or resolving conflict); and with individuals experiencing a variety of concerns, ranging from mood disturbances (such as anxiety and depression) to struggles with addiction.
Susan holds a PhD in Social Psychology, which provides an additional dimension to her conceptualization ot emotional pain.
she utilizes an integrative approach in counseling that helps clients to discover and build upon their unique strengths, and that emphasizes each person's responsibility for affecting and improving his or her own life circumstances. Fluent in cognitive, behavioral, humanistic and psychodynamic theory and techniques, she also relies on contemporary and more contextural approaches to counseling, such as Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy.
Susan is also a passionate subscriber to the mind/body connection. With 10 years of experience as a yoga teacher, she has seen the positive results that physical exercise, proper nutrition and medication can play in creating a balanced lifestyle and improving psychological well being.
Elizabeth Mullin, LCSW
Elizabeth is a licensed clinical socialworker in the state of NJ who has been working primarily with children, adolescents and
families. Areas of experience include: those who exhibit impulsivity, hyperactivity, opposition, defiance, aggression and anxiety, as well as those that struggle with adolescent, family/sibling issues. Her experience involves working at an individual, family and group level. Elizabeth's approach involves identifying and emphansizing the strengths that each individual and family have. She has experience doing group work with children and adolescents that struggle with social skills, coping skills ands expressing themselves in an appropriate way.
Academic Director/Academic Consultant:
Fran is a certified teacher with 26 years of public school teaching experience. Her expertise is supporting students who are unable to work to their academic potential by teaching them effective techniques that will inspire self-motivation. The at-risk or classified student will learn individualized strategies and skills which will promote their success in the inclusive classroom setting. Fran specializes in reading and writing strategies and organizational and study skills. She has also written a study skills curriculum. Fran has had extensive experience and success with a wide spectrum of students with learning and behavioral difficulties. She will provide either individual or small group tutoring in a positive and supportive environment.
Daina studied Architecture and Art History at Roger Williams University. She has worked as a Math Lab Assistant at Community High School in Teaneck for 11 years and has done private and group math/SAT tutoring for 10 years. Community High School is a unique college preparatory school, providing a complete high school experience for bright adolescence with learning disabilities and attention deficits. Daina is the CHS Volleyball Coach as well as the Costume Prop Manager for the school theatre productions.
Daily interactions with students in an alternative learning environment allow Daina to stay attuned to the stresses and struggles encountered by her students. She has the ability to break down lessons into small manageable segments which in turn allows her students to gain confidence in their achievements.
Daina believes that a nurturing environment coupled with organizational skills and creative learning activities are a winning combination which helps to give students the confidence needed to be successful.
